The quality of training and credibility of grading is paramount to the reputation of Krav Maga. Consequently, British Krav Maga has a conservative approach toward the awarding of grades.
British Krav Maga takes the view that an awarded grade should represent the Kravists ability to protect themselves in the most realistic and testing conditions possible. Gradings must represent a ‘Fair Test’ of this ability as measured against the national curricula.
The British Krav Maga curricula provides a proven route map for the development of the practitioner in a progressive and logical manner. Gradings should be viewed as a route map on the path to self-improvement but should not be viewed as an end in themselves.
Success requires regular and diligent training of technique, awareness of the curricula and preparation in advance of the grading. This process focuses on student training and enhances standards of performance across the board.
